Inizio Medical's UK headquarters has been reimagined within the stunning grade-II listed Victoria Mill.
Inizio Medical engages communities across the spectrum of healthcare, combining complex scientific understanding with creativity. The brief was to create a flexible and collaborative 'hub' environment which would be symbolic of as a beacon of change across the wider organisation.
The new workspace is an incubator of sorts which supports the organisation’s strategic direction and provides opportunities for social connections; contributing to create a sense of family and community, whilst also ensuring its warm and embracing culture was more visible within the workplace setting.
The design approach ensured that all new interventions were sympathetic to and celebratory of the building's industrial history, resulting in a sensitive peeling back of the more recent "plasterboard years" to once again reveal once again the stunning original features and volumes of the space: red bricks, timber beams and steel columns.
The historic fabric is complemented with a layering of new natural timbers and warm earthy tones. The design also took inspiration from the textile industry, incorporating lighting and furniture details with a direct nod to the weaving process. The finished scheme boasts character and charm, and has truly embedded a sense of place within this historic and unique mill setting.
